I made my diagram using an app called Diagrams.net. This was the first time I used it, and I found it was easy to use and link to my Google Drive. Please click the image to make it bigger.

ReplyDeleteYour map is amazing! It is what I wanted to do but I couldn't wrap my head around it! You make it so clear. I am also in a high school but I really don't know all of what we have to offer that connects to the ADST curriculum. My only suggestion, to "push your thinking", is to add connections to each of the curricular competency boxes that show what they connect to (understanding context, design, ideating, etc.). Great work :)
Hi Kirstin! Thank you for your comments! I found that the design.net app really made creating the mind map easier- it has a number of templates and you can just build on it by adding nodes and changing the colours as needed. I found this one easier to create than when I was using MindMup.

ReplyDeleteHi Kirstin,
This is a really great example of a mind map for ADST in the library looking at grades 8 and 9. I like how you've laid it out with the big ideas at the core of each branch.
As with your first commenter, my only suggestion would be for you to include more of those process words (ideating, design, prototype, test, make, share) and how they connect to each section and what that might look like in your library.
Overall though, I really like how you've done this!
I'll have to look at diagram.net also as I haven't yet found a mindmap creator that I really like yet!
