Learning Commons Apps

Wow! This chart took a long time to create! I made the list based on what I learned my colleagues are currently using with students, by looking at the apps on the school iPads, and by considering additional apps I would recommend students use. I would post this chart on the Learning Commons website, aimed mainly at staff and use as a communication tool to parents.

  1. Christy: Hi Sarah! You have created a very visually appealing chart here. It is easy to read and I really like that you have broken the apps down into different categories like "Comic Creators" and "Game-Based Learning". I also think that you have done a wonderful job explaining the SAMR potential and how it directly relates to the features of the app. This is a fantastic chart to keep in your LLC and add to/ delete / change at the start of each school year to keep it current.

  2. Kirstin: This is a really comprehensive list for your LLC! It is interesting what is used in other districts. My district denied Survey Monkey and Wakelet. I appreciate how you listed whether the app is paid for by the district or not.

    1. That's interesting. One thing I find weird about my district is that they don't allow Google Classroom but YouTube is on all the iPads, though it is also a Google company.
